Amarula Eggnog

Serves 4-6

Say cheers to this Mzansi twist on a festive favourite! Our Amarula Eggnog is creamy, comforting and guaranteed to be a crowd-pleaser - whether you’re hosting brunch, a braai or a late-afternoon get-together. Best served in elegant Consol Glass Festive Whisky Tumbler.

Ingredients: 

  • 8 Egg yolks

  • 1 cup Sugar

  • 750 ml Milk

  • 500 ml Cream

  • 1 tsp Vanilla essence

  • 2 tsp Ground nutmeg

  • 2 tsp Ground cinnamon

  • 1 cup Amarula

  • ½ cup Brandy

Method: 

  1. Whisk the egg yolks and sugar together in a Consol Glass San Marino Mixing Bowl until fully combined, then set aside.

  2. In a medium pot over medium heat, bring the milk, cream, vanilla essence, nutmeg and cinnamon to a gentle simmer for a few minutes.

  3. Slowly add the warm liquid into the egg mixture while whisking continuously to prevent the eggs from curdling.

  4. Once combined, pour the mixture back into the pot, return to medium heat and allow to simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring constantly, until slightly thickened.

  5. Remove from the heat and stir in the Amarula and brandy, then set aside to cool completely, then refrigerate overnight to chill.

  6. Before serving, transfer the mixture to a food processor and blend for about a minute to ensure a smooth texture.

  7. Pour into Consol Glass Festive Whisky Tumbler, top with a sprinkle of nutmeg or cinnamon and enjoy!
